about me
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
~ Oscar Wilde
I’m a writer, actor, and filmmaker interested in stories about the human experience, from the mundane to the extraordinary.
My training began on stage, starting with community theater then earning a BFA and studying at William Esper Studio. While an avid audience member my whole life, the jump into filmmaking came later. It was bit of a fluke, actually. I simply decided to get a bunch of creative friends together and make a short. I recruited folks who knew how to do the things I didn’t and learned as we went along. I’m still learning.
The love of writing and storytelling has always been there. I’ve been making up stories about anything and everything since I was a kid – my Barbies, the family dog, the trees on my grandparents’ farm. Reading and writing were my strongest subjects in school, and above all my other creative pursuits, writing is the thing I keep coming back to. It’s the outlet feeds me the most and feels the most like home.
I’ve always been a bit of an oddball. (I mean, look at the goofy kid in the photo!) I’m an extroverted introvert, and I feel like i never quite fit in anywhere. Yet, I somehow manage to make my way and find my people in most situations.
My passions are wildly eclectic. I’m terrible at those personality quizzes where you have to choose your favorite color or which vacation you prefer. It’s so hard to pick just one! But, if you asked if there was one thing
that would give me a bit more happiness and inner peace, I’d say a little cottage at Keuka Lake. And maybe a kayak, and a pitbull…
See what I mean?
